 Making mathematics talk: toward a research programme on school mathematics

 ABSTRACT:

This article is about, of, and for school mathematics, addressing the nature of the (meta-)mathematical interactions I have had with David Pimm over the years. In this article, I synthetically organize and report on a variety of moments with David since I met him during my PhD work. These years of working with David contributed and gave shape to, implicitly and explicitly at times, the generation of a research programme on school mathematics. The underlying rationale and aims of this research programme is detailed and illustrated through the article.
